March 18, 2022, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched its high-end smartphones series globally with two models, i.e., Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro. The series already has a smartphone variant launched in February, i.e., Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.
About Redmi K50 series:
The standard version of the series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor, as per the leaks suggested. According to the reports, the processor scores the AnTuTu score of 850,000, making it a powerful processor. And the Pro version of the series launched with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship processor featuring the LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage.
The Redmi K50 series smartphones get the 6.67-inch AMOLED display from Samsung with a 2k resolution of 3200 X 1440 pixels. The screen’s brightness will be 1200 nits, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 526 PPI. Both smartphones also support ambient color temperature sensing, Dolby Vision, DC dimming support, 16,000-level automatic brightness, etc. To protect the display, we get the corning Gorilla Victus which is about 1.5X better than the Corning Gorilla Glass.
We will not see the finger-print scanner in-built on the screen in terms of security. But the company decides to put it on the side of the Redmi K50 series.
We can see the triple camera setup on the Pro version with the 100MP Samsung S5KHM2 sensor on the back. The pro version also features the support for electronic image stability during recording. We also get the support of a 2MP macro and 8MP ultra-wide lens. The 100MP is replaced by the 48MP primary sensor and similar specs in the standard version. Both smartphones get the 20MP Sony IMX596 sensor for selfies and video calling.
The flagship model of the Redmi K50 series is fueled by the 5000-mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging, while the standard version arrives with the 5500-mAh battery with the support of 67W fast charging.
